The barn is in business!

Finally got Internet working in my new home office. Between BPL
(broadband over powerline) adapters, a network switch, a patch panel,
and more wall jacks than I will ever use, I'm finally up and running.

Also, who knew punching down so many cat5 jacks would be so tedious??

Connectivity problems? Not here!

Never wanting to be ill-prepared when it comes to having the right ports and jacks, I went all out for my new office. Including:

  • HDMI (for projector)
  • Coax
  • Cat5e (11)
  • Speaker wire for 5 speakers
  • USB wall outlets

And for my mini recording studio:

  • DVI (for in-room monitor)
  • USB jacks (run over Cat6 for remote controlling a computer)
  • XLR inputs (4)
  • Aux returns (4)

The future home of my new home office!

Aside from housing my normal computer setup and quite possibly a lounge with a projector for movies, our barn - currently used for storage - will be my new home office, and will feature a green screen wall for shooting video (along with necessary lighting), a separate sound proof booth for audio recording, and room for a keyboard/synth. Oh, and of course a Keurig coffee machine. Stay tuned!
